Re: how do you wash your car?
I'd never do that, i'd be scared incase they scratch it lol
vauxhall drivers would never do that sort of thing,
its usually ford/deawoo or rover drivers that take those risks lol

*rinse the car down with the hose
*wash with hot soapy water,
*wash wheels
*Rinse off
*Dry
*clean windows if they need doing again
If i cba then I just wash it lol

Re: how do you wash your car?
it all depends on if its getting a weekly wash or if i do a full detail, a weekly wash involves 5 hours and if i do a full detail it take me all weekend and that involves taking lots of bits of trim off of the car so i can get behind them

Re: how do you wash your car?
Ok all here goes.
This is when i want to give my baby a full once over i would recomend this every 6-8 months depending on how much millage you do.
1) jet wash off car
2) Snow foam car and leave for 5-7mins
3) While i leave car to soak in foam i go round and aggitate all nooks and cranys with a brush
4) jet wash car off
Wheels and Arches
5)Before i do the wheels i like to look round the arches. If i think they need a good clean i will take all the wheels off and snow foam arches and work in with a very stiff brush. then jet wash off. but most the time while you snow foam your car give the arches a good spray to then a good blast off later.
6) i have used many wheel cleaning products but at the moment i love WONDER WHEELS from halfrauds. I liked it that much i brought 5 liters. First i spray all over the Alloy and work in with a stiff brush
7) after working in i wash the wheel off using just the hose pipe and reaply WW if need be.
Back To Car
8 ) i then wash car again inclueding inside doors 1 bucket with grit gard. I use Megs NXT car wash, very good if you love plenty of bubbles.
9) then towel off the car.
10) Now i clay my car using a Megs clay bar kit
11) Wash car again using megs NXT
12) towel car off
Paint protection for car
13) First i like to mask off all my black plastic bits with 3M scotch tape. This will stop you getting them white marks from the waxes etc.
14) I then use megs step 1 of there 3. step system with my G220 Polisher, doing a pannel at a time and wiped off using a terry towel. Step 1 will help get rid of light scratches and swirls and some oxidiation patches.
15) I then use step 2 of the 3 step system, using the G220. this will help condition the paint before waxing or sealing. It is best todo a pannel at a time all so.
16) As my car is silver i put a paint protection on. I use for this Chemical Guys Speed armor 347. This has anti static cababilties so it does not get as dirty as fast as most. When applying this i do the whole car and leave for 20-25 mins and then wipe off using a terry towel. I leave the car for 15 mins then apply again and leave 20-25 mins before buffing off.
17) i then peel off all maskin tape and do all plastics with Auto glym Rubber and Vynul care / Megs ultimate shine depending whichever comes to hand first.
18 ) i then seal all chrome strips and alloys with Chemical guys JET SAEL ( same princeaple as Speed armor when applying )
Windows
19) I use megs Nxt window cleaner ( Its the the dogs dangleys) on all windows inside and out really really god stuff and you dont need to spray much on at all. It even do all lights some times
Next is inside the car
20) a good hoover and celan all vents etc
21) clean all leather with megs leather cleaner and conditioner.
22) spray all dash, vents and door cards with AUto glym/ megs Rubber and vynial care.
23) all windows using megs
Back to wheels
24) I now like to apply to the wheels To give them a nice black shine Megs tyre gel. Its by far better than any spray i have ever used and you will be amazed by how little you will use. I apply once to each wheel then again 10 mins later.
25) final inspection.
26) Well deserved pint or in my case nice glass of Whiskey.
Every week or two
i do stage 1) and all of my wheels and arches bit. 8 ) 9) 18) and 19)
Every month or 2
stage 1) and all of my wheels and arches bit 8 ) 9) 16) 18) and 19)
All in all i love Meguiars products. One of the best i have ever used.
I have never done my engine bay yet but im going to give it a try after winter or sooner depends on how board i get.
All the best and here is some pics
